Publishing Assistant at The Bible Society of Nigeria
The Bible Society of Nigeria is a member of the United Bible Societies (UBS), a global fellowship of Non-Denominational Christian organization whose primary mission involves translation of the Holy Scriptures into languages people can easily read and understand as well as production and distribution of the Scriptures to meet the different needs of everyone. It also organizes programmes for engagement with the scriptures and raises funds for these activities.
To fulfil our mission, we are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced professional to fill the vacant position below:
Job Title: Publishing Assistant
Location: Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities
- Type sets of scriptures and related materials for the Bible Society of Nigeria.
- Ensures that the final formatting of text, illustrations, and other component parts of a publication is error-free and complete.
- To confirm blue-prints from printers and production centers.
- Confirms that all materials and items to be typeset are complete and correct in all areas.
- Supervises the keyboarding of text in electronic format using the appropriate Unified Standard Format Markers and Codes.
- To carry out any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by your immediate supervisor.
Personnel Qualifications
- Interested applicants must be creative, diligent, and practicing Christians.
- Must be ready to deliver tasks on time.
- Must possess good human relations and communication skills.
- Must be a team player who can work along with other young and dynamic groups of employees to achieve results without compromising standards.
- Applicants must be willing to learn and must be practicing and committed Christians with good testimonies of turning point experiences.
- Must have an eye for details.
- Must be calm to do due diligence on every task assigned.
- Computer literacy is a must, and proficiency in the use of Adobe Suite is an added advantage.
