Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to oversee and ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- The DPO will be responsible for implementing and managing data protection strategies, conducting capacity-building training, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to key compliance standards, including PCI DSS, ISO Standards, Data Protection Standards, and other regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the organization and its clients comply with applicable data protection laws, including [Specify Applicable Laws, e.g., NDPR, GDPR, etc.].
- Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies, processes, and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with data protection standards and act as the main point of contact for regulatory authorities.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments.
- Investigate and manage data breaches, ensuring timely reporting and mitigation.
- Lead the implementation of PCI DSS, ISO Standards, and other compliance frameworks for clients.
- Support audit processes by ensuring readiness, documentation, and adherence to requirements.
- Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure successful audit outcomes.
- Provide expert advice and corrective action recommendations for non-compliance issues.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data protection, compliance frameworks, and security best practices.
- Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for employees and clients.
- Provide guidance and advisory services on evolving data protection regulations and industry best practices.
- Act as the main advisor to the management team on data protection and compliance-related matters.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of compliance measures.
- Work closely with IT, legal, and risk teams to align data protection strategies with business objectives.
Qualities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Information Security, Data Protection, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, PCI DSS Implementer, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data protection, information security, or compliance roles.
- Strong knowledge of global and local data protection laws and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in conducting audits and risk assessments related to data protection and compliance.
- Excellent communication, training, and advisory skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
