NGO Jobs at The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
There are several NGO jobs in Nigeria available at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Nigeria. The UNHCR is a UN agency responsible for protecting refugees, asylum-seekers, and stateless persons worldwide. The following positions are available:
- Assistant Development Officer: The Assistant Development Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the UNHCR’s programmes and activities in Nigeria. This includes supporting the development of partnerships with the government, UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to improve the lives of refugees and other displaced persons.
- Community-Based Protection Associate: The Community-Based Protection Associate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of community-based protection programmes for refugees and other displaced persons. This includes conducting assessments, identifying protection risks and needs, and developing and implementing protection strategies.
- Assistant Protection Officer: The Assistant Protection Officer will be responsible for providing support to the protection team in the implementation of protection activities. This includes identifying protection risks and needs, providing advice and assistance to refugees and other displaced persons, and monitoring and reporting on protection-related issues.
All of these positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and relevant work experience. They also require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
